Experience the Freedom of LASIK
We work hand-in-hand with leading surgeons, offering pre-surgical consultations and post-operative care. This collaborative approach ensures you receive comprehensive support tailored to your unique needs, from evaluating your suitability for surgery to ensuring a smooth recovery.
Understanding Your Role in LASIK Co-Management
As your trusted co-management partner, we focus on
- Pre-Surgical Evaluations: Determining your candidacy for LASIK or other refractive procedures by conducting thorough eye examinations and discussing your expectations
- Surgical Referrals: Connecting you with the right surgeons for your procedure.
- Post-Operative Care: Providing follow-up care to monitor your healing process, managing post-surgical concerns, and adjusting your vision correction plan as needed.
Preparing for Success Before and After LASIK
To optimize your outcomes, we advise the following:
- Pre-Surgery: Follow specific guidelines, such as discontinuing contact lens wear and avoiding eye makeup, to prepare your eyes for surgery.
- Post-Surgery: Adhere to recommended practices for a speedy recovery, including attending follow-up appointments with us or your surgeon, using prescribed medications, and protecting your eyes from UV exposure.

The LASIK Procedure
LASIK is an outpatient, two-step procedure designed for your convenience. You walk into the surgery center, have the procedure, and typically leave within an hour. The surgery lasts about 15 minutes for both eyes, allowing you return to normal activities shortly after.
Your Post-LASIK Journey
While you can immediately open your eyes and walk without glasses following the surgery, driving is not recommended, but you can resume your normal activities the next day.
Medication and artificial tears will typically aid healing and prevent infection, but if your vision remains blurry after several months, consult your LASIK surgeon.
Your Eyewear & Care After LASIK
Successful LASIK surgery can significantly reduce your dependence on glasses or contact lenses. However, some situations, like reading or computer work, may still benefit from corrective eyewear. Regular eye exams remain essential for maintaining your eye health and ensuring lasting visual clarity.
At Omni Eye Specialists, we're committed to your journey toward clear vision. Contact us today to explore your options and how we can assist in managing your LASIK or refractive surgery process.
